The competencies of today’s IROs reach across many corporate disciplines including finance, communications, strategy, and governance. To address the evolving IR role, The National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) created the Investor Relations Charter (IRC) Certification, a rigorous exam to assist IROs in measuring their skills and abilities by applying practice principles across 10 IR competencies.
If you are considering taking the exam and want to determine your eligibility for the IRC exam, please visit www.niri.org/certification.
The NIRI Virtual Chapter is currently offering one scholarship for each of the testing windows per year. To be eligible, you must be a current NIRI Virtual chapter member in good standing for a minimum of six months prior to your application and you must have achieved a passing score on the IRC exam.
The application deadline is two months after the completion of the exam. For example, if the last date of the testing window is March 20, applications are due by May 20 of the same year for applicants who have achieved a passing score on the IRC exam. Scholarship winners will be reimbursed for the cost of the IRC exam ($1,095) plus the cost of the Investor Relations Body of Knowledge, the IRC reference book.
Interested applicants should submit a one page proposal to info@nirivirtual.org (no more than two type-written pages) by the deadline regarding your:
- Full legal name
- Current job role
- Career goals (short-term or long-term)
- Commitment to continuing education (other courses/seminars)
- Involvement in NIRI
- Expected benefit from the IRC
